SAVE THE SQUISHIES:
2D GAME ART

The artworks encompass a whole spectrum of the game components such as the start-up menu, platforms, character design, animations, lasers, explosions, blood spatters, and the backgrounds of each level within the game. This work was done during the first year of the M.Sc. in Digital Games. I was the artist in a team where each student had the role of a person in an indie game development company. After a lot of brainstorming and planning, we decided to create a 2D game set in a spaceship, where the player avatar is seen going through each level of the game and thus ultimately escaping the pirates (enemies) who were attacking him (the astronaut). We had to follow one rule in this project, namely that the game could not use any language. The instructions had to be created in video format, for which I created the assets which were in the form of tutorials.

ANIMATIONS

Below are some of the tutorials and animations created for the game. The animations of the characters were done in the form of sprite sheets, where each frame was exported and put as a sprite sheet in unity, so that the animation could be used in-game.

DÒCHAS

This is a video capture of a game - Dòchas, that I created in Unity. This was a project which I had to carry out during my M.Sc. in Digital Games. The aim of this project was to show that we understood the rules of creating a playable level and knew the basic principles that make up a good level design within a game.  The assets were bought through the Unity online store. The main task was to build the level from scratch and give the player an experience of exploration.
